This Privacy Policy explains how Mock Location (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, processes, and protects information when you use our Mock Location application (“App”).
The App is designed primarily as a location simulation and testing utility. It allows users to create routes, select locations, move simulated location points, and test location-dependent functionality on compatible Android devices.
By installing or using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect and process information required to provide, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the App. The information we collect can be divided into the following categories:
The App allows you to select, enter, or create simulated geographic locations. This may include:
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the App does not require your real-time physical GPS location to create a simulated route. If you use the App's route or movement functionality, the App may process the locations you select to generate a simulated movement path.
The App may allow you to:
The route and location information you create may be processed locally on your device to provide the requested functionality. We do not sell your route or location information to advertisers. If a particular feature requires communication with a third-party service, the applicable information may be processed by that service according to its privacy policy.
The App uses Google Maps SDK to display maps and provide map-related functionality. When using the map functionality, Google may process certain information necessary to provide its mapping services. This may include:
Google processes information according to its own policies and terms. For more information about how Google handles information, please review Google's privacy documentation: Google Privacy & Terms. The App does not control the information collected or processed directly by Google through the Google Maps SDK.
The App may use Google Play services to provide Android and Google-related functionality. Google Play services may process technical information required to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the services. Depending on the device and services being used, this information may include:
Google Play services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's applicable privacy practices: Google Privacy Policy.
We use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how users interact with the App and to improve the App. Firebase Analytics may automatically collect information such as:
We use Analytics information to understand which features are used, identify frequently used functionality, improve the App's user experience, measure App performance, understand general usage trends, detect unusual usage patterns, and improve future versions of the App. Analytics information is generally collected in an aggregated or pseudonymous manner and is not intended to identify you personally. We do not use Firebase Analytics to sell your personal information. For more information: Firebase Privacy and Security.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems in the App. When a crash or error occurs, Crashlytics may collect information such as:
This information helps us detect crashes, identify technical problems, understand the cause of crashes, improve application stability, prioritize bug fixes, and improve compatibility across Android devices. Crashlytics information is used for technical and diagnostic purposes and is not used by us to identify you personally. For additional information: Firebase Privacy and Security.
We use Firebase Remote Config to remotely configure certain App settings and features without requiring an immediate application update. Remote Config may process information such as:
We may use Remote Config to enable or disable features, configure application behavior, adjust application settings, perform controlled feature testing, improve application performance, respond to technical issues, and deliver configuration updates. Remote Config does not require us to collect your name, email address, or other direct personal identifiers for normal operation. For more information: Firebase Privacy and Security.
The App may use Android's mock-location functionality to provide simulated location information to the device. Depending on your Android device and configuration, the App may provide simulated latitude and longitude values through Android's location APIs. The simulated location may be visible to other applications that are designed to receive location information from the Android operating system.
The App does not control how other applications use, store, transmit, or process location information they receive from Android. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies and terms of any third-party application that receives or processes location information.
The App is primarily designed to work with simulated locations. A location entered or selected by you may not represent your actual physical location. If you voluntarily grant the App access to your device's physical location, the App may process that information for functionality that specifically requires actual device location.
You can control location permissions through Android's system settings. You may revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Some App features may not function correctly after permissions are revoked.
We do not intentionally collect the following information for advertising or user profiling:
The App does not require you to create a personal account unless a future version explicitly introduces such functionality.
The App uses Google AdMob ("AdMob") to serve advertising. Third-party advertising services may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and interaction events to display personalized or non-personalized ads according to your settings.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information may be processed or shared with service providers when necessary to operate and improve the App. The App may use third-party services including:
These services may independently process certain technical or usage information according to their respective privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when required to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud or abuse, protect the security of the App or its users, and investigate security incidents.
Information required for the App's core functionality may be stored locally on your device. For example, route configuration, selected locations, and movement settings may be stored locally when required to provide the App's functionality. Analytics, crash, and technical information may be processed through Firebase services.
We do not intentionally maintain a centralized personal database containing your routes or simulated locations unless a specific feature explicitly states otherwise.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Locally stored App data may remain on your device until you delete the data, clear the App's storage, uninstall the App, or the App removes or replaces the data. Information collected through third-party services such as Firebase may be retained according to the respective service's retention policies and configuration.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.
You should also maintain appropriate security on your Android device, including using device lock protection and keeping your operating system and applications updated.
The App is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of identifying or profiling them. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
The App relies on third-party technologies and services. These third parties may independently collect or process information. Our primary third-party services include:
Used for Analytics, Crash reporting, and Remote configuration: Firebase Privacy and Security.
Used for Displaying maps, Map interaction, Location selection, and Route-related map functionality: Google Maps Platform Terms.
Google services may process information in accordance with Google's privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these third-party services for additional information about their data practices.
You have control over several types of information and permissions used by the App. You may:
Disabling certain permissions or services may affect the functionality of the App.
Because much of the App's core route and simulation information may be stored locally, you can generally remove such information by:
Information already processed by third-party services such as Firebase or Google may be subject to those services' own data retention and deletion mechanisms.
Third-party service providers used by the App, including Google and Firebase, may process information on servers located in countries other than your country of residence. By using the App, you acknowledge that information may be processed internationally where permitted by applicable law. Third-party providers are responsible for applying their own safeguards and privacy practices to information they process.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes may be made to reflect new App functionality, changes to third-party services, changes in applicable laws, changes in data-processing practices, or security/technical improvements. When we make changes, we may update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You should periodically review this Privacy Policy for the latest information.
